Soča River is a hidden gem, discovered by Disney in 2007 and presented to the entire world in a movie, Narnia: Prince Caspian. Soča River is a 137 km long alpine river with a mysterious karst source in Trenta, at the foot of the mighty Julian Alps. It is famous for its emerald color and vibrant rapids in the upper steam.
Expect to spend the entire day on this trip. You will drive and walk a lot. But it will be worth it.
Kranjska Gora
Idyllic alpine village where you can take a walk through the old part of the city.
Zelenci
Zelenci Springs, a nature reserve near the town of Kranjska Gora will leave you speechless.
Lake Jasna
From Kranjska Gora road will lead you to Lake Jasna, where you can refresh ourselves with coffee and take a short walk around the lake and take a photo next to bronze Ibex.
Russian Chapel
The road to Vršič was built by 10,000 Russian prisoners during the First World War, and in March 1916 a huge landslide buried hundreds of soldiers, according to locals, about 600 died at the time. In memory of all casualties, Russian Chapel was built. A memorial service is held every year at the end of July and In 2016, it was also attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Ajdovska deklica"
One of the most beautiful works of art designed by nature can be found right on the way to Vršič. The stone face of the “Ajdovska deklica” in the northern wall of Prisank is best seen from the lookout hill at Poštarska koča na Vršiču, and it is also visible from Erjavčeva koča. Legend says that a mythical creature, a buckwheat girl, prophesied to the hunter’s son that he would shoot the Golden Horn. Other buckwheat wives became angry at this inadmissible prophecy and turned the prophetess into a rock. You can enjoy a mountain lunch at the view point.
Trenta
After adventures from Vršič it starts descends slowly along serpentines. In addition to the source of the Soča, the valley of the Last Trenta is also worth a visit, where, among other things, Kekec’s homestead is arranged, next to which one of the films about Kekec was made.
The Tolmin Gorge
The Tolmin Gorge is a common name for the “Tolminka” and “Zadlascica Gorges”, which are one of the most magnificent natural attractions in Tolmin.
